About Sky Soup

Sky Soup Art Center is a place where artists of all ages have more time and a space to create.

A community art center located in Bala Cynwyd, Sky Soup Art Center offers art education that is creative, enriching, nurturing and fun! The child centered studio is a place where people can communicate visually in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, animation, printmaking, sculpture and textile dyeing.

Children and teenagers can choose from ongoing art classes, art camps over spring & summer break, Saturday workshops, and art birthday parties. Sky Soup offers a BYOB class for adults to gather, create, and learn new art techniques on Wednesday or Thursday evenings.

The mission of the Center is to provide a place to make explore art making with a wide range of materials. We are interested in process over product. Projects are designed around a theme and are age appropriate.  Children learn many lessons in art. These lessons include: all problems have more than one solution, each person interprets the world differently, small differences have large effects, and judgement rather than rules prevail. Art making helps children joyfully grow their visual voice as they find the unanticipated possibilities of their expression as their work develops.
